Ingredients
Method
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly coat with cooking spray.
- Add the cottage cheese to a large mixing bowl and lightly drain off any excess liquid if needed.
- Add the panko breadcrumbs to the bowl with the cottage cheese and stir until the mixture is thick, uniform, and holds together when pressed.
- Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the mixture, roll it between your palms, and shape it into a small cylinder like a tater tot. Place on the prepared baking sheet and repeat with the remaining mixture, spacing the tots slightly apart.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping the tots halfway through, until they are golden brown and crisp on the outside.
- Remove from the oven and let the tots cool on the pan for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- If the mixture seems too wet and does not hold a shape, add 1–2 extra tablespoons of breadcrumbs and mix again.
- Dampen your hands lightly with water while shaping to prevent the mixture from sticking.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce such as marinara, ketchup, or a yogurt-based dip.
- Leftover tots can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheated in a hot oven or air fryer until crisp.
