Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown sausage slices for 5–7 minutes. Set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and cook for 3–4 minutes. Stir in garlic for 30 seconds.
- Lower heat and add cream cheese, stirring until melted. Whisk in heavy cream and simmer for 3–5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and fold in cheddar cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
- Combine broccoli, cauliflower, and sausage in a large bowl. Pour cheese sauce over and mix.
- Transfer to baking dish and bake for 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden. Broil for extra browning if desired.
- Let rest a few minutes before serving.
