Method
- Heat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown sausage slices, about 5–7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 3–4 minutes. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
- Lower heat and add cream cheese, stirring until melted. Whisk in heavy cream and simmer 3–5 minutes until thickened.
- Remove from heat and fold in cheddar until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a large bowl, combine broccoli, cauliflower, and sausage. Pour cheese sauce over and mix well.
- Transfer to baking dish and spread evenly. Bake 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden.

- Briefly steam or blanch broccoli to ensure tenderness.
