  • 1 cup long-grain white rice jasmine or basmati works too
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups whole milk or 2% for a lighter version
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • Optional toppings: Ground cinnamon chopped nuts, raisins, or a drizzle of dulce de leche

Instructions
 

  • Cook the Rice: In a large pot, combine water, rice, cinnamon sticks, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Add Milk and Sugar: Stir in the milk and sugar. Bring the mixture back to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cook for 25-30 minutes, stirring often to prevent sticking, until the pudding thickens.
