Description
A quick and flavorful viral cucumber salad made famous on TikTok, with soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and sesame seeds. Ready in just 5 minutes for a refreshing side or snack.
Ingredients
1 cucumber, sliced
1.5 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
1 tsp fish sauce
1 tsp sugar
sprinkle MSG
1 clove garlic, grated
2 green onions, sliced
1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
1. Use a mandolin to slice the cucumber into a deli quart container, or slice thinly with a knife and place in a bowl.
2. Add soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, fish sauce, sugar, MSG, garlic, green onions, and sesame seeds.
3. Place the lid on the container and shake until cucumbers are evenly coated. If in a bowl, toss well.
4. Enjoy immediately for crunch, or refrigerate 1–2 hours for a quick pickled flavor.
Notes
The cucumbers will be crunchier if eaten right away, and softer with a pickle-like texture if left to marinate.
This recipe can be doubled or tripled easily for gatherings.
