Description

Buttery, flaky puff pastry wrapped around cinnamon-sugar-coated apple rings.


Ingredients

1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed)

1 apple (sliced into rings and core removed)

1/4 cup coconut sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

1 egg (whisked with a splash of water for egg wash)


Instructions

1. Thaw puff pastry on the counter for 30 minutes.

2. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

3. Cut puff pastry into long strips using a pizza cutter.

4. Mix coconut sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.

5. Slice apple into rings and remove the core.

6. Dip each apple slice in cinnamon sugar mixture to coat both sides.

7. Wrap a puff pastry strip around each apple ring.

8. Place rings on the prepared baking sheet and brush with egg wash.

9. Sprinkle with additional cinnamon sugar.

10. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use a pizza cutter for even strips.

Core apples with a round object like an oil cap.

Ensure apples are fully covered with puff pastry.
