Description
This Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwich is the perfect mashup of two comfort food classics. Crisp, golden bread filled with gooey mozzarella, spicy pepperoni, and fresh tomato, served with warm marinara for dipping.
Ingredients
8 slices Italian bread
8 slices part-skim mozzarella cheese
8 slices tomato
4 teaspoons grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
24 slices pepperoni
1/4 cup butter, softened
Pizza sauce, warmed
Instructions
1. Lay out 8 slices of bread and layer mozzarella, tomato, Parmesan, garlic salt, and pepperoni.
2. Top with remaining mozzarella and the second slice of bread.
3. Spread butter on outside of each sandwich.
4. Grill sandwiches on a hot skillet 3–4 minutes per side until golden.
5. Serve hot with warm pizza sauce for dipping.
Notes
You can substitute sourdough or gluten-free bread.
Add mushrooms, olives, or basil for extra flavor.
Store leftovers wrapped and reheat on a skillet for best texture.
