Description
A grilled, caramelized donut with melted cheese. Yes, please!
Ingredients
2 large glazed donuts (day-old works best)
2 slices American cheese
4 slices crispy, cooked turkey bacon
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
1. Heat a pan or griddle to medium-low heat.
2. Slice each donut in half like a bagel.
3. Brush melted butter on the cut sides of each donut slice.
4. Place buttered sides down on the griddle.
5. Place a slice of American cheese on two of the donut halves.
6. Cover with a lid to melt the cheese.
7. Remove the lid and flip the non-cheese halves so the outside grills.
8. Add turkey bacon on top of the cheese.
9. Close the sandwich with the non-cheese halves, grilled side up.
10. Remove carefully from the griddle.
11. Let cool briefly, slice in half, and serve immediately.
Notes
Day-old donuts hold up better when grilled.
For extra indulgence, add shredded chicken with the turkey bacon.
